There is something special about photographing a tiny, newborn baby. Newborns have such a fragile, delicate beauty that makes everyone fall in love with them instantly. I always feel extremely blessed that I get the chance to capture babies like little Harry who was only 4 days new. I love seeing all the little, little details of a newborn, doesn’t he have such lovely cheeks and sleep smiles?
It’s fascinating to see that even at this young age babies know what they like and what the don’t like, so I am always super-patient and gentle with them while I work and I always keep the little individuals’ tastes in mind. Some babies love to be swaddled up and some don’t. Harry liked it and he liked having his hair played with, lying on his back, and getting curled up all cosy.
Harry’s Mum loved his little mohawk, and we loved it when blew a few bubbles. Let’s face it, this is an enjoyable process for everyone. There is nothing sweeter than your baby’s first week of life, and it is such a pleasure to sit back and watch someone expertly capture the beauty of your newborn with gentle, patient hands.
