Locations

Location Ideas

Choosing a location for your photo session can be challenging! So, I wanted to make it easier for you with some visuals. All my favourite locations look different every month. Colours and light depend on the day and the time of the year. Let me know which one you prefer or what else you have in mind; I’m also always open to your ideas!
These places have space, natural beauty, interesting buildings for various images and facilities that families love to have close by, like bathrooms and the option to have coffee and cake.

What To Consider

Some locations will be very busy at certain times of the day. Beaches are cleaner and have fewer people in the morning.

Other areas, such as manor houses, may also be hosting an event or a Wedding Party, so it is always wise to check ahead of your session to ensure that we are not in the way.

Great spots may require walking, so it is wise to bring comfortable shoes and change once we hit the good spot.
Wearing wellies will be perfect if an area is muddy, as canvas shoes can get easily ruined.

Where To Go & What Time

The photoshoots take place within 25 miles of CF72. For an additional fee, I can shoot further away. I have a list of locations you can select from, or we can discuss the ideal place for your family over the phone.

Sessions start the first hour after sunrise and about 1.5 hours before sunset. This will differ depending on the time of year. I will help you have a smooth and easy photo session and provide you with a checklist, planning tips, clothing options and tricks to help the shoot go well!

Top Four

#1 Miskin.
It has beautiful gardens and awesome doors to pose by, and it’s also gorgeous to photograph inside if little ones need a rest. It also offers fantastic sandwiches and coffee, so it always gets my vote.

#2 Penarth Woods
Sadly, there are no cakes or bathrooms, but it has the most beautiful long-stemmed buttercups in early June. It is also a gorgeous location for sunset sessions for children who can stay up later.

#3 Sophia Gardens
The castle is so close, and it is gorgeous in the spring and autumn.

#4 Merthyr Mawr
The castle ruins are lovely, and the Dunes and a beach are nearby. Bring good walking shoes and something pretty. The sand is lovely, and the views are gorgeous.
