Snow just made January 2013 look very beautiful!

We wished for snow the last year, we bought sledges and they remained under the staircase for the duration of the winter.

This year we got the Jackpot!  It’s the perfect excuse to stay at home with my little boys. Snow days mean fun: mittens, snowball fights, sledges, snow angels, chunky knits, and afterwards warm towels, hot cocoa and Happy Feet on the DVD. We are all together with no work or school, so it’s feels like a spontaneous “Holiday”, an unexpected gift and the children were so excited!

My littlest woke me up to tell me that “It’s Christmas again!” I loved seeing the delight on his face.

I had been feeling under the weather and nursing a bad cold. When the snow came, it gave me a really good reason to go out with my camera. We didn’t venture far, we stayed in our street because it was so treacherous and as you can tell from the photographs, everyone really enjoyed it and I am so pleased with how these turned out.

Most were taken the first and second day after the snow arrived, the snow was perfect and unspoiled by car tracks. My laundry pile is skyscraper high because I couldn’t wait to edit these, I think you’ll agree that it was worth it!
