What Is A Mini Photo Session?

A mini portrait session differs from a main or "Classic" session mainly because there is no session fee, and it is a themed, shorter session! You can get the chance to have a few gorgeous portraits at a lower price point!

 

A mini-session is a wonderful opportunity to update your portraits for a milestone or special themed shoot. This is ideal for getting a fantastic seasonal gift for family and friends.

 

Note - If your little one is very clingy, reserved or is diagnosed with learning difficulties that make even mild parent separation traumatic, we understand and are here to help. It's better to book a more extended session so we have more time to get to know each other. We work with many little ones, but if a child is terrified or in tears, it is better to limit their distress and stop, as we don't want to put them off for future photographs. Some children come around after a few moments, but we cannot guarantee a smile.

How Long Is The Shoot?

The session is 20-35 minutes long, fun, and full of giggles with my funky little chicken friend. The time cannot exceed 35 minutes as we must prepare for the next client, so there will be no time for a second outfit change or background.

Who's In The Photo?

The tree set is ideal for children only (three kids max is one is a baby). We can add parents for a simple green backdrop image; please let me know if this is something you want when you book. Parents, your Christmas Jammies are welcome. I can photograph cousins together when two sessions are booked one after the other. Due to limited space and time, only the people being photographed should be brought with you.

The Set/Props.

We have an adorable group of mini trees and festively wrapped boxes for kids with sweet, chunky blankets and rugs! We will shoot on a solid, dark wooden background, as the photographs show. Glitter is added in post-production. We can also use a simple green seamless background or remove props to simplify the set.

Newborn, Babies, Children, Tweens & Teens

Newborn

Newborns will be wrapped up as above for a Christmas look. Options are a Santa hat or a simple coloured hat or headband. Props are the little bed, bowl, or bucket, as pictured.

Small Babies

Babies who cannot sit unsupported (see above four months old) can be photographed lying on a red or green rug and upright with parental or sibling support on the green backdrop. In post-production, we add festive elements and glitter as well.

 

Older Kids

These are fun, cheeky novelty images, and we offer the option of a gorgeous portrait. We have a gorgeous sledge or little chair for older children. You can reassure your teenagers that we edit any unwanted spots and blemishes too.

Digital Files are like negatives that you can use to print your images up 20x16 inches (big) for your wall and on mugs and t-shirts or frame them for fantastic gifts.

Additional images can be bought as an extra at £45 per image. Products like wall art, frames, or prints are available to buy and can be added and ordered after you receive your files. Digital products are not exchangeable.

We shoot and edit your portraits early so you can easily buy gifts from your chosen print lab. Most have early December cut-off dates for guaranteed delivery before 25 December.

Due to the limited number of time slots, session fees are non-refundable. Our standard terms apply.

 

Illness & Rescheduling

My assistant and I must be non-contagious when we work with babies and pregnant women. If you or your family is unwell, we can reschedule for other dates when you provide at least 48 hours advance notice. Also, your payment can be used to reschedule a Classic session within a month of the original session date.
